Concerning the topic

What you need to know

Due diligence refers to a set of checks carried out by an investor in view of a transaction. An Anglo-Saxon concept, due diligence allows a future buyer to get an idea of the precise situation of a company before deciding on its investment. This can make it possible to verify the strategy of a company, its tax, accounting, social, environmental situation, etc.

Concerning the Health, Safety and Environment aspects, it is a question of evaluating the risks for the purchaser in relation to pollution of the ground, the basement due to the recent or historic use of pollutants present in the building (asbestos, lead, etc.), their situation (risk of flooding, seismic, etc.), the compliance of their security systems.

The methodology is similar to that described for the audits part with a focus on the relevant issues.
